How to Completely Remove Comodo Firewall

Comodo Firewall is actually a wonderful program to help assist in the never-ending battle between nice friendly data and evil virus data. I’ve been using it and been very happy with it, but a few days ago, I encountered significant difficulty in removing this Firewall a previous version so that I could upgrade to the latest version.

Comodo is one of the more difficult firewalls to remove from a computer. Usually going through add/remove programs can not delete it completely. You’ll find traces still left in the registry and the actual firewall is still recognized by Windows Security Center, let alone an Internet connection. To get rid of them, you can follow the below instructions:

Method 1 (I take the deletion in Windows XP as an example)

1. Shut down all the unnecessary programs

2. Temporarily disable your Internet connection

3. Delete the folders and files below if they still exist. Most users will have C: as the default location for Program Files, if the location is in another drive, open it.

C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication Datacomodo

C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersDesktopCOMODO

Firewall Pro

C:Documents and Settings%user name%Application DataComodo

C:Program Files [Comodo Firewall Pro folder]

C:boot.ini.comodofirewall (this file may not exist).

C:WINDOWSsystem32driverscmdGuard.sys

C:WINDOWSsystem32driverscmdhlp.sys

C:WINDOWSsystem32driversinspect.sys

C:WINDOWSsystem32guard32.dll

4. Go to Start – (right click) My Computer – Properties – System Properties – Hardware – Device Manager – View – Show Hidden Devices – Non-Plug and Play Drivers, and then delete all the existing related entries as below

6. Finally, restart your computer.

Caution: using these instructions may modify the Windows Registry, and if your operation is not proper, it may cause serious errors. So if you are not sure enough of your ability to do this, and if you are a novice with little computer knowledge, you’d better find a good removal tool to help you.

Method 2 Remove Comodo Firewall automatically in seconds

Besides completely getting rid of the programs including those can not be removed by Windows Add/Remove applets, a good removal tool also have below outstanding features:

It fully uninstalls empty or corrupted registry entries.

It forcibly removes corrupted or hidden programs.

It is much simpler and faster to use than the Windows (Add/Remove) Programs functionality

It restores registry files.

There is actually a fantastic removal tool that can help you fully remove Comodo Firewall with great success and make sure all the now-defunct Registry entries and related files are eliminated automatically with a few clicks. Aside from this software, it can also completely remove other programs like Authentium, Norton, Trend Micro antivirus, Internet Explorer, or Microsoft Office, and similar programs.
